Get the Big Picture
Taking business outside, giving you the time and space to spark creative thinking, reconnect with your purpose and find your path
Escape your desk and head into the mountains
I’m Ant, the founder of Mountain Boardroom
I get you out of the office and into the mountains, to spark extraordinary thinking in extraordinary landscapes.
We are living in a world which is constantly pressuring us to squeeze more and more ”stuff” into less and less time.
But our minds are not equipped to do the big, strategic, break-through thinking in 25-minute bitesize chunks or power-hours.
To do the visioning and planning and make the breakthroughs that will really make a difference we need to give ourselves time and space.
So while most Business Coaches, strategists and leadership consultants do their very best to squeeze into your busy schedule and minimise the amount of time they spend with you, I take the opposite approach.
Out in the mystical mountains of the UK, I give you ring-fenced time and space to clear your head for ground-breaking thinking and ask the big questions to enable you to reconnect with your purpose and find your path.
“A desk is a dangerous place from which to watch the world”

Why you need a Mountain Boardroom
I created Mountain Boardroom to be a natural sanctuary for busy and over-burdened business owners, executives and leadership teams, who feel like they’re moving faster and faster, in ever-decreasing circles, in a noisy, online and increasingly isolated digital world.
I find that these conditions mean that incredible trail-blazers (like you), struggle with the following:
Getting Focussed in a world of constant noise and distractions
The constant distractions. The email you can’t ignore. The phone rings again. Someone knocks on the door.
Our adventures give you time and space to finish your thoughts, reflect, join the dots, explore what it means, and work out what comes next.
Finding Clarity when you are overwhlemed by the weeds
When you are stuck and overwhelmed, you can’t work out our problems with the same thinking that created them. Heading into the mountains creates a distance from the everday pressures, to-do lists and workloads, clearing your mind to tackle the big questions.
Time for Big-picture thinking to grow your business
Big thinking doesn’t happen in small rooms. Getting away from the day-to-day and into the mountains gives you a fresh perspective, allowing you you make the breakthroughs, form new innovative ideas, see the big picture, and the plot the rotue to get you there.
What we do…
We work both with individuals who need headspace to see the big picture and find clarity, and businesses who need to get their leadership teams together to build trust, innovate and overcome their mountains
We offer 1:1 sessions and group Walkshops in the mountains, to not only work ON your business, but to get a view from far above it.
Whether you need to take step back to look at your vision and purpose, have a ‘strategy day’ to plan your next steps, or simply step outside of the overwhelm and unblock your thinking, we have a number of sessions and routes available.
Our small business and corporate adventures are aimed at businesses that want to take their teams’ thinking out of the office and, into the mountains.
We have a number of Walkshops to help spark big-vision thinking, ground-breaking ideas and unstoppable resilience in your leadership and executive teams, while building an incredible team bond though the shared challenge you undertake.
We also offer 1:1 Executive coaching in the mountains - ideal if you find coaching online or in a room to be stifling and ineffective.
Community can help us through the times of greatest uncertainty. Walking side-by-side, where silence is natural, not awkward, provides an environment to build enduring relationships.
We host a range of events, including monthly netwalks, outdoor coaching workshops, challenge walks, support groups and retreats where we can connect and grow as humans.

What our Clients Think…

Your journey - how it works
Creating a safe, creative playground
Feeling safe is essential to allow free and honest conversations to take place. I am a Mountain Leader, Hill and Moorland Leader, Outdoor First Aider and fully insured for the activities we undertake. Psychological safety is also crucial, and one of the reasons I take my conversations outside is to make sure no-one can overhear and you can’t be interrupted.
Preparing for your journey
We curate your adventure, choosing a location and environment that tunes into who you are and what you seek. We’ll have a chat about what to expect, both in terms of the phyiscal journey and the mental one. By the time we meet for our adventure, you are ready for it.
The Unburdening
On the day, we don’t just ‘arrive’ ready to ‘think big’. It will take you time to transition from the weeds of your every-day to the clarity of the mountains. We create a space and some time to let your thoughts and conversations flow, as you process what’s going on, until you can leave it behind, and your mind is ready to face the big questions.
Making the breakthroughs
We all like to think that inspiration just hits us, but that moment takes time to arrive. Our sessions allow us to explore paths, hit an impasse, then circle back again on the big stuff, when we are ready to face it. When the breakthrough comes, it will feel like it comes all at once, but it has been building to this throughout the day.
Capturing the big plans
I’m not going to promise you a shiny gantt chart, or a bound strategy and plan that sites gathering dust on your shelf. We are all grown-ups here, and you are responsible for taking down your actions and forming your plan. Because if I’m responsible for creating it, you’re not going to do it!!
We do a lot of our writing and drawing on the mountain, overlooking somewhere beautiful, but we’ll also hunker down in local cafes or pubs if the situation (read: Weather) suits it.
Making it count
You may be responsible for your journey, but you are not alone. I am your guide, here to ask questions, help to structure your thoughts and plans, highlight the gaps, and most of all, keep you honest.
After each session, I’ll check in regularly to make sure you’re on track!
