Wellness Walk - Fulneck and Tong Summer Hols Stroll

  • Opposite Bank House Inn 40 Bankhouse Ln England, LS28 8EB United Kingdom (map)

How do you juggle the school summer holidays and work?

Come out and meet other like-minded business owners and professionals for a summer walk around the splendid woods and brooks between Fulneck and Tong. But don't worry about putting the kids into childcare. They are welcome too*

And to appease the cries of 'I'm bored' and 'my legs are tired', we'll visit the amazing Goodalls Ice Cream Parlour halfway around the route, where we will get in the ice creams

There will be plenty of time to chat, connect, reflect and ponder, and give yourself a well-deserved break from the office after a busy week, and let the kids run around in nature and burn off some energy.

*You don't need to bring a child to attend!

Exercise your mind

Our Wellness Walks offer a great opportunity to get outdoors and network with other local business owners and professionals, in a stunning location and with a relaxed atmosphere.

If you want to connect with other real people for business and work, but normal stand-in-a-room-and-deliver-your-pitch-networking doesn't do it for you, this netwalking event is where you need to be.

The Walk

We will meet, ready to walk, at 1000, opposite the Bankhouse Inn in Fulneck, Pudsey.

We will head down into the woods and cross the beck, before crossing the road and heading back into the woods. We'll head into Tong and stop for an ice cream (all ice creams on us), before heading back down to the beck, and a final push up the hill to the start.

The route consists largely of good tracks, however these would not be suitable for a pushchair or pram (unless you have a particuarly rugged one)

1000-1200

180m ascent (light-mod)

7.7km

£12.00 (£5 for kids)

A Quick Note on Safeguarding

Note that on this event, the safety of your children remains primarily your responsibility. Although we provide walk leadership for everyone on the event, you remain responsible for any parental/guaridan decisions.

We usually take photos during these events. Please ensure that you inform me beforehand if there are any safeguarding issues where your child cannot appear in any photos online.

Also, when we do take any photos during the event, you are welcome to ask to remove your child from the group photo.

The walk leader, Ant, is the holder of an Enhanced DBS certificate (certifed in 2025).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our view on the weather is that you can get as much benefit from expeditions in poor conditions as you can in perfect conditions. If we believe that the weather poses a significant risk to your safety, we will cancel the event and issue a refund to all participants.

  • Safety is at the core of what we do. Ant is a fully qualified and insured Mountain Leader and Hill and Moorland Leader, and is experienced in ‘old-skool’ navigation (and ‘new-skool’ navigation too), outdoor first aid and leading groups safely into the hills.

  • Yes! You are welcome to bring your companion along. We do ask that your dog starts on a lead, is well-behaved and calm, and you are mindful of others in the group who may not be as curious/enthusiastic about your friend as they are about others!

  • Events will be arranged to start in locations where parking is available. We endeavour to make events reachable by public transport, but this isn't always possible. The event briefing will contain further information.

  • I provide a recommended 'kit list', but generally I recommend bringing a sturdy pair of boots/shoes suitable for walking in, a light, waterproof jacket and enough layers for the weather we expect.

  • Most walks will be accessible for most people. Mountain Boardroom has 5 walk grades - Light, Moderate, Challenging, Tough and Extreme. All Wellness Walks are ranked between light and moderate. 'Light' covers most flat routes, 'Moderate' has some short hill climbs.

  • Priorities, right? We'll head to a cafe/inn/pub at the end of the walk - for anyone who comes along, I'll get the first drink in.

  • If it's 7 days prior to the event, message me and I'll refund you. I absorb Eventbrite fees in the ticket price, so you may still need to pay these. Between 2 and 7 days, I will offer you a free place on another Wellness Walk. Less than 2 days - no worries, but no refund, sorry!
